About the Service Academy

The objectives of the Service Academy of Marin are to educate and train high school students in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide an education into different opportunities to serve their community and Nation.
            
The Service Academy is grounded in the core values of integrity, personal responsibility, service before self, and commitment to a greater good. The curriculum emphasizes American civics, history, and character development. With a strong focus on occupational opportunities within the Federal and State government.
            
The Service Academy does not recruit for the military. Its primary emphasis is education. Participation at NHS Service Academy is open to all students living in the surrounding counties.
           
The program at NHS helps students learn extremely important life skills, inspires them toward high expectations, keeps them focused on their studies, provides needed tutoring or mentoring and prepares them for the rigors of life as an adult, whether a career in the trades or college both paths will be explored with instruction in a broad spectrum of occupations.
